How is Net Impact different from other consulting organizations?
At Net Impact, we work with value-driven businesses, social enterprises, and non-profits to improve their performance and broaden their impact. Our members are curious, proactive, and passionate to positively change our world through business. Our organization consists of people from many different majors and backgrounds, bringing multiple perspectives when approaching social impact business problems together. As a consultant, you will have the opportunity to choose your cause and create a tangible impact on the world. We are not only here to teach you how to ace the case interview process—we are here to teach you about an impact-driven approach to doing business, creating a more socially and environmentally sustainable future.
How can I apply?
Recruitment takes place only during fall quarter. The first step in the application process is submitting an online written application. Applications are due by Friday, October 9th at 11:59 pm PST. You will be notified through email of your application status. Do I need consulting experience?
Prior experience in consulting is not required. We welcome and encourage people of all majors and backgrounds to apply. We are looking for individuals who have:

What majors do you accept?
We welcome people of all majors and backgrounds to apply. The social impact space is incredibly diverse. Whether you are interested in education, sustainability, investment finance, technology, or healthcare, there is space for you in Net Impact. We encourage you to apply and to share your passion with us.
How many people are accepted each year?
We do not have a specific cutoff. Our club size is dependent on the number of applications we receive, along with the quality of applicants. We strive to accept individuals whose values are aligned with our organization.
How can I best prepare myself for interviews?
The main goal of our interview process is to get to know you better personally and to assess your analytical and communicative abilities. With this in mind, the best way to approach these interviews is to demonstrate honesty, effort, and passion for the social impact cause you believe in most. For additional resources for interview prep, be sure to attend our info sessions on Tuesday, October 6th at 7-8 pm PST or Wednesday, October 7th at 7-8 am PST.
How will you be adapting to COVID-19 this year?
Due to COVID-19, recruitment, meetings, events, and socials will be held over Zoom. Regarding recruitment, if selected to be interviewed, you will be sent a Zoom link to meet with one or two executive board members at a time that works with your schedule.
In terms of the rest of the year, we plan to keep our general meetings as interactive and engaging as possible over Zoom. Members will have the opportunity to be a part of our casing group if they wish to sharpen their consulting skills with others. On our website, we post blogs to highlight our members, cover career-building topics, or share anything social impact and business-related. We also plan to organize guest speaker Q&A events, case competitions, and bonding games and activities over Zoom.
I didn’t get in, but I’m still interested in social impact. What can I do?
Even if we are unable to offer you a position in Net Impact, we would still love to be a resource for you in your social impact journey. We’d love to see you at our guest speaker events and workshops, and we also share resources on our blog for you to learn more about various career-building topics and navigating the social impact space.
